    Parinaz Zartoshty

    Parinaz has been in the field of international education for over 15 years. Prior to entering this field, she had experience working for Amnesty International, UNICEF and smaller non-profits. Parinaz has a Masters degree in International Relations and speaks several languages, including Farsi (Persian), French and German. Having gone through the US immigration process and the process of acculturation several times, she enjoys facilitating this process for others and hence, finds fulfillment by advocating for our international students and scholars. In her spare time, Parinaz enjoys hiking, writing and learning about other cultures and cuisines.

    Adrienne Bergenfeld

    Adrienne is from Colorado, but now calls Santa Cruz home.  She has been in the field of International Education since 2009 and has worked in a variety of schools across the nation in both International Admissions and International Student Services. She earned a Master’s Degree in International Education from SIT (School for International Training) and has lived abroad for a short time in both Austria and Greece and studied abroad in Japan.  When not supporting students at UCSC, Adrienne enjoys cooking, gardening, and discovering great food.  She loves receiving restaurant suggestions from students, so if you have one, let her know!

    Theo-Alyce Gordon

    Theo is a California native and got her start in international education in 2012 as an International Services Assistant for ISSS. She has studied abroad in Berlin through UCEAP and also traveled extensively throughout Europe and southern Africa. A UCSC alumna and the daughter of an immigrant, Theo enjoys helping students navigate UCSC and complex U.S. immigration regulations. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, true crime podcasts, and volunteering with a local animal rescue.

    Alicia Haley

    International Student & Scholar Advisor

    Alicia has been in the field of international education since 2010 when she began her graduate studies in Vermont.  Since then, she has worked as an International Student Advisor at universities in Rhode Island and Wisconsin.  Before working in higher education, Alicia served 2 years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Namibia and afterwards worked with Project Healthy Children, a global health non-profit in the Boston area. During her free time, Alicia enjoys road trips, movies, and leisurely cups of coffee.

    Linda Harris

    International Scholar Advisor

    Linda hails from the Midwest and has worked in the field of International Education for more than 14 years. She has worked at a community college, private institute, several different public universities as an international student advisor, employee and scholar advisor. In her current role, Linda advises scholars, employees, and hiring departments on J-1, E-3, TN, or H-1B visa matters, helping them navigate the complex U.S. immigration regulations. She enjoys meeting scholars and their family, learning about their background, culture, and research. She finds it rewarding to assist others to fulfill their academic, professional, or personal goals. In her free time Linda likes to swim, to quilt, or play video games.

    Keri Toma

    International Programs Coordinator

    Keri has recently transitioned into the field of International Education after a decade of teaching Japanese language and culture at various institutions in California and Texas. In her role as International Programs Coordinator, she hopes to provide UCSC students with the same warm hospitality and support she received during her three years working abroad in Japan. Keri holds a Masters in Teaching Foreign Language and a Masters in International Education Management both from the Monterey Institute of International Studies. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, seeking out great food, and looking at pugs (her favorite dog) on Instagram.
